Doesn't every country practice imperalism? Who said that Iraq couldn't be practicing imperialism as well as America. America is a proffesional at using imperalism.That is how we have a lot of money, weapons, land and influence. I also think that that is why people from other places of the world want to go to America. We are an imperalist country. That is why I think that Iraq also practiced imperialism in the past (in attacking Iran) and why we can expect that they will try to practice imperialism again.
Will Iraq Embrace Imperialism?
Iraq is a country rich in oil. They have the potential to be a very powerful nation, which would lead to imperialism. It might not be such a bad thing if Iraq practiced imperialism. They would be wealthier in economics and health and if they would be able to take over some of the little nations around them. This could actually help us if Iraq becomes democratic and forms an alliance with us. They would get much more people if the do all of this.
At the same time this could be bad. Since they are an imperialist nation other nations might want to get revenge because they have too much power.If they did that Iraq would simply just attack them because they have so much power, using a military trained by us. This might lead to more terrorism and escalate violence in Iraq.
Our Conquest of Iraq
Every state uses imperialism. Do you think that Iraq is an act of imperialism? In my opinion I do think that Iraq is an act of imperialism.The reason is because when you do a war to take over other nations, you are an imperialist nation.You earn part of their land and they do what ever you say. We are running the government and that is like running their whole state. We are taking their oil and importing our culture.
In my opinion I think that the best solution for the war in Iraq is to pull them out.I think this because it could get really crazy.They might want to get revenge and kill all our soldiers.That would be really bad. Many of the soldiers' families want them back. I know that I would. They have been there for the longest time ever.I think that we should give them their government back and let them see if they can make democracy work. If we take the first steps of not practicing imperialism, Iraq might follow our example.
