Eva Peron: the History of a Hero
On May 1919, Argentina became the home of what became a hero, her name Eva Maria Duarte AKA Evita Peron. Growing up very poorly with five more siblings and no dad Eva had to live in a one room shack and work in kitchens of rich houses instead of going to school. After turning 16 she moved to Buenos Aires, and filmed a few movies and worked at a radio station.
In 1945 Eva met the Minister of War, Juan Peron. In less than a year they were married and she helped him run for presidency. To their surprise they won. As the first lady, Eva started her own foundation and made many schools and hospitals. She also helped women with their education and workers that were being exploded. Soon Eva had made many friends and enemies, because she embraced her poverty and became to many the first women politician even though she was only the president's wife.
Her worst enemies were the rich people in Argentina. They hated her because she didn't like them and did everything to put them down. When the oldest charity in Argentina didn't invite her to be the president, she cut all of the money they received from the government, shut them down and started her own foundation.
Eva's political life was short. She was diagnosed with cancer in 1950 and she knew she was going to die. Since she was so loved by people in Argentina she did one last thing before giving up. She ordered some workers to build her something that would hold her standing up so she could seem like she was fine and they did. When she finally felt ready she used her biggest coat and covered her whole body so people wouldn't see what she was hiding. She went out on the streets and waved at everyone.
The very next year on July Evita died. The whole country was devastated and so was her husband. Up to this day everyone remembers her and that's what makes her a hero. She came from the lowest and embraced her poverty becoming the first lady of Argentina, to many the first woman politician and most important of all Evita.
Underground Railroad
Underground Railroad: Road to Freedom or Death?
I'm writing this are to explain how the underground rail road started, why, when and how it was like. My sources were only books.
You may be wondering what the under ground rail road is, well it is the term given to slaves escape routes. It helped runaway slaves to reach safety of the northern or in Canada. Slavery was illegal in Canada. The rail road routes led from the south to the north. (Although they were not really railroads at all, but routes where people would go from place to place).
The Underground Railroad sprang up and grew over time as more people helped run away slaves move north. Even though it was illegal, they helped them because they believed that no person should own another person. Although many lucky slaves made it to freedom, other unlucky slaves didn't make it at all. They were often hunted down while trying to escape. They were sometimes beaten and even shot when captured. As another punishment for trying to escape. Slave owners would cut off their fingers, heels or toes.
At the end of the war of 1812, U.S. soldiers spread the word that Canada was a safe place for run away slaves. So some slaves began the long and life threating journey to the North. Many slaves each had their own idea of a good hiding place such as houses, farm's,barn's, cave's secret compartments and even grave yards.
Slaves took directions from the north star and moss that grew on tree trunks. People who helped run away slaves were called Conductors. Conductors had secret codes that helped slaves get to their destination safely; like quilts and stones the tapping of stones meant for slaves that it wasn't safe to come out at the moment. A bear claw patterned quilt meant for the slaves to follow bear tracks over mountains.
The most famous conductors were Uncle Billy Marshal and Harriet Tubman. It is believed that they helped over 300 run away slaves make it to freedom. Alexander Ross was also a conductors, but even more impressing he was a white doctor with a big heart. He helped many slaves by providing them with supplies and Canada directions.
By the 1860 many states have passed laws for or against of slavery. That same year, Abraham Lincoln was elected as the U.S president. He did not believe in slavery even thought it was legal under the U.S constitution. He thought the federal government had no power to out law slavery. He said each state should decide if it was legal.
The Underground Railroad was a dramatic protest action against slavery. This secret operation was part of a organized abolitionist activity in the 1800's. The story of the under ground rail road includes the many brave slaves determined to reach freedom, as well as the people who helped them. Although there were many routs slaves could take only few from each slave states made it to freedom, the nearest were either were captured or they died of starvation or extreme weather. Slavery started in 1501 and it ended completely in 1865, that's a lot of years that remaining slaves had to put up with. Many say it was worth it, at least they were free for ever.

what is imperialism?
by DV
Did you know that imperialism is all over the world? Imperialism has been on the world since humankind. Then in the past there wasn't so much imperialism. Nowadays you see all kinds of imperialism. There is cultural imperialism, economic imperialism and political imperialism. Compared to the old days, where the imperialism they practiced was dangerous and a leading source of world war, now, the type of imperialism is less dangerous; even if it is still a source of violence. There are others that practice imperialism as they did in the old days. I just hope that their thoughts and drives don't take them to the type of imperialism.
The first type of imperialism is cultural imperialism. Cultural imperialism is when one nation tries to force there culture believes on another country. If the country that they try to force there culture, refuses, then there will be war. Then that war will start world war. The example of Cuba is an example of Cultural imperialism. The Spanish try to put their culture on them. So America st3eped into battle. America said,"Well help you get Spanish out". The Cubans automatically said yes, anything so we can be a free nation. Once America drove the Spanish off Cuba, America said ,"Hey, now you guys have to practice our ways". The Cubans are all alike,"Well we got rid of the Spanish because we don't like to be controlled. We don't think you got the message correctly. Well we helped you get rid of the Spanish so we actually own you. Therefore, Cuba had to practice American ways for a couple of years. Once they had enough forces they drove the American's off. That is one example of cultural imperialism.
The next type of imperialism is economic imperialism. Economic imperialism is when a nation takes over other nations natural resources.A natural resource is natural acuaring material. For Example coal or wood, that can be explaited be people. Like if if some one from Africa or some other nation found out that Africa had goldmines,of course , all the nations would try to take over Africa. They would try to take over Africa just for there money. Wal-mart is one example of economic imperialism. When Wal-mart hears that a little shop is going out of buisness, they buy the little shop and ship merchandise over to sell. Mc Donald's is the leading economic ruler of fast foods. Compared to Burger King and Taco Bell, Mc Donald's won't from the simplest fast food to the highest fast food industries. Mc Donald's now has toy, ads cartoons, comercials and much more other stuff that no other company has.
The last type of Imperialism is political imperialism. Political imperialism is when one nation tries to force their ways of polities on another nation. Let's say that Iran takes over Puerto Rico or Cuba. If Iran likes there ways of politics, so they force Puerto Rico their ways of politics. Political Imperialism is more , like one nation controlling another nation's laws and systems Like if you're nation controls you're friends nation. Well, let's say that you want to pass a law in your country, and it gets approved. If that law gets approved, and you control other nations, well, these nations will have the same laws and political systems. Thats is what Political imperialism is.
There are a lot of people that don't know this but we are all the cause of imperialism. Imperialism is always on people's minds. Some people know that if they are practicing its either for a good thing or a bad thing. Not all types of imperialism are bad. If those types of imperialism were used for selfish thoughts, and will cause other nations to suffer, than I am against imperialism.
The thing is all humans are selfish. Fact is, there is one in a million that are rarely selfish. So as long as man kind is selfish there will always be imperialism amd war. Imperialism will either be used for good or bad causes. It just depends on what that person wants to do with imperialism.

Great Depression
The Great Depression lasted from October 24, 1929 until the economy recovered in the 1940s. On October 29, Black Tuesday, the stock market crashed badly, and continued to fall through the weeks. As a result, the United States and the world were thrown into 10 years of poverty and unemployment. The depression affected all sectors of the economy. Farmer owners suffered from falling crop prices. Businesses failed from a lack of investment support. Banks closed their doors as the nation's citizens hoarded their money and defaulted on loan payments.
Herbert Hoover was President of the United Sates at the beginning of the depression. His message to the people was one of the messages that made people still believe in recovery, even as things began to get worse. Though he eventually sparked some government action in an effort to curb the effects of the depression, he believed in the power of the economy and their power to right itself without government intervention. The situation did not improve, and dissent grew throughout the nation. Hoover lost presidency to Franklin D. Roosevelt(FDR) in the 1932 election.
FDR quickly shifted from a stance of non-intervention to a government policy of regulation. In the first hundred days of his presidency, he and his trusted advisers, known as the Brain Trust, created the New Deal. Marshalling a previously unseen executive power, Roosevelt created a number of agencies to aid business, and the unemployed. The nation mobilized, and it appeared that the economy might improve. However, the economy remained troubled, and criticism of the New Deal rose up in the government. A number of Supreme Court Rulings dismantled the primary mechanisms of FDR's plan.
FDR set forth the Second New Deal in 1935. This program reaffirmed the administration's commitment to public support of the nation's troubled people. Great steps were taken in attempts to solve the unemployment problem. The economy showed some signs of recovery but was set back by the 1937 recession. After that, FDR enacted few additional measures to cooperate with the depression. Finally, the economic recovery took place under the war economy of the early 1940s, with levels of poverty and unemployment returned to pre-depression levels.
The great depression was an really bad disaster but it did help spark many things which became popular during that time. The radio was a really good things that the depression sparked because it was mostly comedies and soap operas, that took peoples minds off their troubles and provided happiness during time of great sadness.
why school can seem like boot camp
The Germans: a horrible Jew-destroying people or a wise race with military in mind? This is the question that has made us ponder for some time now. In one sense, the Germans were wise by making their school system like the military. Yet, there were also some dangers. In this article, I will compare and contrast how the school is still like the military. By comparing it we can see how hard the teachers are on us kids. By contrasting it we can see how we have changed it for the better. For instance what if your kids want to go to another job. All of these issues will be discussed in this essay.
In the Late Eighteen hundreds the Germans created a school that would prepare kids for the military. It was part of a society of militarism, where all people must work toward the eventual goal of serving the military. They did it because they wanted to go to war. They probably needed to get more soldiers in the war. So they put the kids in these schools to toughen them up and to make them hard and not afraid of death.
The similarities between the military and the schools now a days are pretty great. We have to be in an in closed place. The military are also in an in closed place. In school if we miss behave you get punished. In the military if you disobey your commanding officer you get punished. Also we have identification cards that tell everyone your number and your name even the group your in. Again, in the military you have numbers and identification cards that tell who you are. That is pretty scary because in both he military and school they don't want to call you by your name. They want to call us by the numbers. They also want us to wear uniforms, just like the military. We have to line up in straight lines and march to and from lunch. We are told when to pee and when to drink and eat.
Just as there are similarities there are differences between the school system and the military. They have intense training both in combat and mind. In schools they only have training in the mind. But even then it is still not the same kind of mind training. They are also different by the way they talk. The military talks and says yes sir, no sir, yes mam, no mam. In school you just say Mr. or Ms. or Mrs. That is a big difference. One last difference is that in the military they want you to address them by there rank. We don't do that in school, its kind of awkward. However, there are people who assume they are higher up and better than you.
Now that you have seen the similarities and differences between the military and the school system. I would like to ask you what do you think of the Germans? Do you like them or do you hate them, Why? Is this military style of education what is best for our current society? Do you think we should change the school systems or should we keep them or should we change? You make the choice because its your life and your education.

Lessons from Vietnam and Korea
What have we to learn from the Vietnam war? We have learned absolutely nothing from the Vietnam War. Or I should say our leaders have not learned the lessons from Vietnam. It was a conflict that began back in Eisenhower's term. We sent the military in South Vietnam to ward help ward off the takeover of the whole country by communist. Over a ten year period, our total commitment was over 500,000 men. Our rate was a little more than 10 percent of that total by the time we pulled out of Vietnam. When they had pulled out the people, they were all Communism.
What did the Vietnam War produce? It produced dividing countries away,It also created animosity against our men in military .
I do believe we have learned from Vietnam is that today, we do support our troops unlike Vietnam. During the time of Vietnam, we blamed our troops instead of the Administration; today we have turned the our brains and are now blaming the Administration instead of the troops like we use to. Our troops are doing their job and that is following orders given by the President George Bush.
Why did we lose in Vietnam? people wonder why. They were fighting and had been fighting for their freedom for many centuries. We saw this as a civil war that was going to fall to communism and create a domino effect. Instead of sitting down and talking about our differences like professionals, we decided to use technology and military and thought it would do the job to fight. This was due to the policies put in place by President Johnson.
We need to look to our past in order to make a better future, for the people. We need to learn from the past so we don't make the same mistakes . Vietnam and Iraq are so similar that it is very haunting that is really scary. We could have avoided war, but our Administration wanted to learn from the past what we had did when we fought back then.
Below are pictures of the Korean War Veterans Memorial!!!
I think that we should stop this mess because then if we don't then people are going to die and that people don't want to die they want to live and stay alive like the rest of us.It would be easier because then bush wouldn't need to be hated on and then he wouldn't need to bother on fighting in a war.It would be as if the world didn't have anything going on .The world would be so nice and that it would not a mess anymore.

If I could change one thing about industrialization . . .

by A.V.
The first thing I would do is pass a law that is against child labor because no child deserves to have the childhood many children of the past unfortunatly had to go through.A childhood where many of their parents would get injured or even die in their jobs,of hunger,or of all the deadly diseases there were back then.Secondly I would help all of the people that got injured while at ther job because if a man or a woman lost their arm of leg at their job they wouldnt get health covorage and most of those people after they lost one of their body parts were not alowed back at that job or sometimes not at eny other job eather.Lastly I would talk with pressident Rosavelt so that he would pass a law that would forse factories to use safe chemicals because if people back then had known about the effects of pollution none of what has happened sense then would be have happened no global warming, no illnesses do to the a non-sanitary life style. Those are the three things I would do if I could go back in time and change the things that happened during industrialization.

World War II - Why It Happened
World war II was very bad. It involved innocent people who lost there lives. It looked awful – bodies laying across battlefields, people wasting away in concentration camps, smoke, bombs, and a lot of people layen there dead. Some of them didn't have a choice to stay or to go to war.
War world II happen because of Hitler and what he was trying to do to the world. The second world war affected a lot of people. The reason is that Hitler had gained lots of power and used his plan to create the perfect race. He wanted to take over the world. It was a big part of history everybody who was there probably to this day might remember exactly how it smelled, looked or they probably even could still taste it.
It was a really tragic war. It was one of the longest wars of the last century. It was certainly the deadliest. For many countries, it was all about revenge. The more they lost the more the sent more soldiers to attack them. The Germans wanted revenge for the Treaty of Versailles. Other nations wanted revenge on the Brittish for imperialism. America wanted revenge for Pearl Harbor.
The bombing of Pearl Harbor was another cause of the World War II. This why America got involved in it. When my teacher showed us what happen and all the pictures.I felt like crying because when I saw all those people and this one little kid he looked so scared and lost. Yet, I felt just as bad for the people who died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
I think that the World War II is important to me because there where some innocent people who die. Some people didn't have any chose to go in fight for our country or state. Hopefully it is a disaster that will never have to happen again.
A War that Everyone Forgets
What do you know about World War I? Do you think it was tragic, or was it not important to you at all? I've rarely heard about it. World War II is more known to people, but I'm going to help you learn more about it, because it is an important war.
It was known as the War to End all Wars, but did it? World War I was a big part of history. It was tragic, it was depressing, and millions of people died fighting for their countries and their families. More than nine million soldiers and civilians died. It took place in Europe from 1914, to 1918. Austria-Hungary declared war on July 28th, after that, on the first of August, the Germans declared war against Russia, then two days later they declared war against France. The toll on human life was something the world had never seen and it all began with one shot.
World War I began because of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife on June 28th, 1914, by Gavrillo Princip. After that, countries began declaring war against each other. You can imagine how traumatized the war left all those people, how they'll never be the same again. The people who fought in the war were known as the Lost Generation. After a few years or so, Europe mourned. Memorials were set up in thousands of villages and towns. It must bring back terrible memories to see the memorials, and even if they never do go visit the memorials, they must think about it from time to time. It was a time when people could no longer believe in hope or progress.
During the war, around 8 million men surrendered and were put in POW camps. 92,000 Russians surrendered, over half of the Russian losses were prisoners. Prisoners from allied armies totalled about 1.4 million (not including Russia, who lost between 2.5 and 3.5 men as prisoners) from central powers, about 3.3 million men became prisoners. So many people were killed, injured, or held as prisoners. The amount of men that were killed during World War I, is terribly high. It's sad to think about it.
World War I was a very terrible war. It wasn't the last war, and neither was World War II. No matter what, there will always be mean and sick people out there who'll do things, that cause others to want to put an end to it. For all the men that fought in World War I to bring peace to the world, they should never be forgotten. They risked their lives, and most died, just fighting for their countries. No one, should forget, The War to End all Wars.
The Story of World War II
Have you ever wanted to know about the World War II? It was a very brutal war between the Axis and the Allies team. During the World War II another tragic thing was happening. It was the Holocaust. It was a very tragic thing that should never happen again because there were millions of Jews who were massacred for no reason. World War II was another tragic thing that should never happen.
World War II happened because a evil dictator named Adolf Hitler wanted to take over the world. Germany, Italy, Japan and other Axis powers wanted to take over the world. However, America and the other Allied countries did not want them to take over the world so that is how the war started. The Allies weren’t perfect, however. For years, they had practiced imperialism and now they were forcing the German citizens to pay huge fines for World War I.
First Germany did a surprise attack on smaller countries like Belgium and Poland and took over parts of Europe. Then Great Britain told the other countries if they could help them then the other countries jump into the fight and that is how the World War II started. Except for America they did not jump into the war yet so they could come in late and make them look like they are the strong ones. This way, America would emerge as the superpower.
During the war there was another tragic thing happening. It was the Holocaust. The Jews were being killed by the Germans. They were putting the Jews in these places called ghettos. Later, they sent them to death camps. Then they put them in these gas chambers and killing one by one. Then, when they died in the gas chambers they dragged them out and put them in these piles of dead people that were stacked one by one. Then by one year they killed over a million Jews.
Midway through the war, the Japanese decided to bomb Pearl Harbor. That is what made the Americans jump into the war. The Americans went to be in the good side that has Great Britain, Canada, and Russia. But they did not go into the war early they went into the war late so they could win the war and make look like they are the strong ones. When the war was over Adolf Hitler had nothing else to live for so he killed himself. Later, America used the nuclear bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, so the war was over.
The war started because of the Germans, because they wanted to rule the world. They were killing all of the Jews. Then the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and that is what the Americans in the war. Their was allot of countries in the war, the good side is the Allies and the bad side is the Axis team.
Lessons from the Holocaust
Hitler was one of the leaders form the Holocaust. Except he wasn't the only one responsible for killing Jewish people. Other countries were allies with Hitler and Nazi people. Hitler was powerful for controlling other people lives, but they still had a choice. Hitler didn't care if they were innocent. He didn't even care for children. If he considered them inferior, he murdered them.
Jewish people were in Concentration Camps where they had to work hard. They didn't eat enough to be healthy and stay alive. Many of them died in gas chambers and some of them died because they were to skinny. The Nazi people lied to the Jewish people by saying that they were going to take a shower witch in real life they were send to The Gas Chamber. In there they breathed poison and died. They didn't know the truth. After they died in the gas chamber, their bodies were stacked up and then tossed into the creamatorium.
Some people survived this tragedy to tell how it was and what was their own story. What happen to people and what they heaved to live trough with their family? The people can answer questions that we have about the Holocaust. They might have pictures or something we can imagine how it was. Jewish people were treated badly and poorly back then. Those people had to live that horrible experience. Yet, when they tell their story, we can learn from the tragedy.
People lived through horrible things back then. We as humans would never like to live in those horror times. Hitler and those people didn't care for those people and children. He didn't have feelings for those poor people. They got killed just for having another cultural identity. However, we can learn from this. Genocide still happens and by studying the past, we can help prevent what is happening now.
The History of Racism in America
Not that long ago anybody could be murder a gruesome death just because they are not a certain race that is supposedly the best one to be. Imagine your walking down the street and somebody calls you a bad name because you are not the race that person is. It doesn't seem fair that somebody could do that just because your not a race or color. Nobody should be treated this way it just not real way to live. Whipped, slapped, beaten, cut ,kicked and hit are only a few things that could happen to somebody that is a victim of racism.
The KKK was one of the most famous racist groups that would try to kill any body who was not one of them. They would hang African-Americans from tree's for being African-American. Doesn't seem fair to waste a life because of a belief. Another example of a racist group was the Nazis. The Nazis plans were to kill Jewish people because they were different. The Nazis were not like the KKK the Nazis captured some and then killed the others.Slavery was one of the worst cases of racism the south believed that African-Americans were no better than animals. The north on the other hand was a free country for slaves. Still, people faced racism up north.
Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X are some of the people who made other people realize that racism is wrong. These heroes were a few of the many people who know why racism should never have been introduced to the world. If more people knew about how to stop slavery there wouldn't be as racism as there is now. They are such great examples because whether your sitting in a bus or starting a revolution it all makes a difference.

Adolf Eichmann
There was a man that betrayed his whole country just to save his family. Although he never physically killed anyone, he used his mind to create a more effecience way of killing millions. His name was Adolf Eichmann.
It all started when the Nazis started to give the Jews names like rats. The Nazis also started putting the Jews in ghettos. The ghettos originated from the name of the Jewish quarter in Venice, established in 1516. During world war II, ghettos were city districts (often enclosed) in which the Germans concentrated the Jewish population and forced them to live under miserable conditions. Then the Nazis told them to start digging there own grave. Nazis just stood there and shoot them one by one.
Later the Nazis grew tired of wasting their bullets and they came along a man who was very smart. They gave him a choice to make a plan to use fewer bullets or him and his family will die. What did you know he picked to make a plan to kill his own fellow citizens (also called genocide). According to the plan, Jews were shipped on trains to concentration camps. It was here that Jews were told to get nude and give up their clothes. After that they got told to go in a gas chamber they didn't know and they died after 2 hours in there. The other step was to burn them in a over sized oven.
Hitler wanted only blond and blued eyed people. He tried every thing to make it that way some people got blind and some bold. When a women had twins one of the twins got experimented on. While the experiment was going on the child was alive and not asleep or died. Before Hitler got caught he shot him self because he knew they where going to touchier him. Now his body is spilt up every where in the world. Yet, that was not the end of things for Eichmann, the man who made murdering more effecient. After about 20 years they found him and brought him to court where he was found guilty and hung.
Women's Role in World War II
Some people really don't know what happened to the women in World War II. I would like to change that. All those women who worked just like men should be honored. There were many ways women benefited the war cause. It was a time for women to show what they could do. A time for women all over the US to understand that they can do it too and that they have rights just like men. Thousands of women worked in factories. Some even disguised themselves as men to fight in the war. I thought it would be a good idea to do this article about them to honor their memories.
The women who worked in factories really did help the war. Some women decided work at factories that supplied the military. In fact the hours they worked were long and some even had to move to where the factories were located. The ones that did moved were paid more. The men that did the same work were paid in fact a lot more because they were men. Some women that where greatly skilled where paid less than a non-skilled man. They stood up for themselves and started a strike to increase their pay. It was the start of a feminist movement.
Most people won't believe this but they where used as secret agents!!! This job was very DANGEROUS. One mistake and it could cost them their lives. Maybe not their lives in some cases but torture. Those women were really brave. Two of all the women got awards. Their names being Violette Szabo and Odette Churchill. Both of them were captured and tortured. Violette was murdered and Odette survided the war.

The women that didn't have paying job volunteered in the WVS (women's voluntary service). The women that worked there would help firefighters. They would actually provide them with tea and refreshments. By 1943 there were about one million volunteers. Basically the WVS did whatever was needed to be done and recieved little praise for it. Most of the women that volunteered were very elderly women. They did a very wide range of jobs. They even knitted socks and anything needed to keep them warm.
So in conclusion those women were brave. Sometimes women forget they have rights and I would like to remind those who forgot. I won't forget it myself.

The Story of Anne Frank
Anne Frank was a Jewish girl that wrote in her diary everyday. She had a list of goals planed for her life which included her desire to write a book and get it published. She wrote her diary later and after two years her book became a best-seller all around the world. This is her story.
Annelise Marie "Anne" Frank was born on June 12,1929 in Frankfurt am Main, Wiemar Germany. She was the second daughter to Otto Heinrich Frank and Edith Hollander,Margot Frank was her sister. Anne and her family lived in an assimilated community if Jewish and non-Jewish people. Margot and Anne grew up with catholic, Protestant andJ ewish friends. In her family her mom was then devout parent and her dad, a Germany officer from World War I, was more interested in scholarly pursuits.
On March 13,1933 Elections were made in Frankfurt for the municipal council and Adolf Hitler won. Later in the year Edith and the kids moved to Achene where they stayed with Edith's mother Rosa Hollander. Otto stayed in Frankfurt, but then got a job offer to start a company in Amsterdam. He moved there to start the business and to arrange a home for his family.
On the morning of July 6,1942,the family moved into the hiding place. They left their apartment looking like if they had moved immediately, and Otto left a not that made it look like if they had left to Switzerland. As the Jews couldn't use public transportation they walked several kilometers from their house. They had to wear several layers if clothing because they wouldn't dare to be seen with suitcases.

In late July, the Franks were joined by the Van Pels family: Herman, and 16-year old Peter. Then in November by the Fritz Pfeffer,A dentist and a friend of the family. Anne didn't like any of the other kids, but Anne soon started a romantic relationship with Peter.
The families were in hiding for two years until they were betrayed and sent to concentration camps. They were separated by gender, and all the kids under the age of fifteen were sent to gas chambers and Anne had turned fifteen three months earlier. Anne lived in the concentration camps for six months until she died in early March 1945. She was just fifteen when she died. Otto Frank was the only survivor of the family. When he came back home Miep gave him Anne's diary and read it, and a few months later he got it published, because he remembered that Anne had said that she wanted to write a book and get it published.
Her diary told a lot about her life for the few years that she had that book. It tells people how her life was for her during hiding. Soon her book then became a best seller. The book was read by a lot of people and they found out about all the things that she went through. Anne Frank soon became a legend and she will always be remembered.
